OOS JAN2010-JUL2010, DEC2009:Well 8 (20071) went out of service on Nov. 13, 2009 due to an electrical issue. Com. Ed. had a transformer malfunction in front of the well 8 site that caused a spike in power. The surge protection at our site also failed to protect the motor on the well pump that was operating at the time of the surge. The Village of Montgomery had Layne Western pull the pump and motor for repair. The village also is addressing the electrical issue before the pump and motor can be used due to the uncertainty that they will be protected in the event of another spike in power. The return to service is approximately July 2010.
